Overview: Polyurethane foam is the most common type of foam used in cases. The foam is soft enough to provide flexibility for items, but also dense enough to provide cushion for even the heaviest of items. Technical: Polyurethane is open cell which means air and water can flow freely throughout the foam. The material weighs about 1.2 - 1.3 lbs per cubic foot.

Custom Foam Insert for Beretta Px4 Storm Custom Carry, using a Pelican 1170 case.

Cobra's team worked with me to design a custom foam insert for my pistol. I received the insert a few days ago. It was immediately apparent that the insert had been precisely cut, using advanced computer assisted technology. Cuts are smooth, regular, and conform nicely to the case. It's also apparent in the photo I've attached that compared to the photo Cobra offers on its web site to provide customers with an approximation of what the insert will look like, there is only about a quarter inch of foam between the end of my pistol grip and the bottom of the case. I would definitely recommend that Beretta Px4 Storm Custom Carry owners purchase a larger case (Pelican or otherwise) in which to place this insert. With repeated placement and removal of the pistol, the foam near the pistol grip's bottom edge might tear.

I appreciate the Cobra team's willingness to work with me to design this insert and ship it in a timely way.
